3D Printed Lamp

How it started

To give credit, my lamp was inspired by this lamp on Pinterest. I really liked it, so I decided to make something similar. This project was done in July 2025.

Design

I exclusively used Blender to model the lamp.

How the texture was made: I distributed a tesellating part over a cylindrical surface with Tissue, which is a computational design extension.

After that it was a bit of proportional scaling to create the ringed indents, and a couple of boolean operations to create the space for the LED module and cable.

3D printing

The lamp consists of two parts: the outer textured shell (printed with transparent PETG) and a diffuser inset (printed with white PLA). Both parts are printed with vase mode.

I printed the parts on my Sovol SV08. Unfortunately I could not find any pictures of the printing process.

The texture turned out really well:

LED module

I made two lamp variants:

  • Warm white with a physical switch
  • RGB with a remote

The LED module is 3W, 45 mm in diameter, and 8 mm high.

It’s press-fitted to the bottom of the lamp, and the cable in the channel is secured with a bit of glue.
