3D Printed Card Holder

Design

I came across this card holder model and while I liked the design, there were a couple of things that annoyed me. So I developed my own design from scratch, inspired by the aforementioned model.

I wanted a something that isn’t just functional but also would have a appealing mechanical/sci-fi look.

As usual, OnShape helped me to do just that.

3D printing and assembly

I printed the final parts in PETG on my Sovol SV08 with a textured PEI build plate.

The holes on the back side are designed for M3 heat inserts. Everything is held together by 5 10mm M3 flat head screws.

After that I had fun importing the STLs into Blender and making a render to use as a thumbnail:
