ONGOING PROJECTS AND FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
An (incomplete) list of projects that I am currently working on and things that I'd love to work on in the future...
Linear Calendar (plugin for Obsidian)
Status: 🟢 Ongoing
Overview
It’s strange that this doesn’t exist yet. I’m envisioning a calendar where each month is a row, and the whole year can be seen at once. The idea is inspired by Nick Milo’s linear calendar layout:
I want it to be a plugin for Obsidian so that the calendar data can be stored as Markdown in daily notes. The user should also be able to zoom and pan on the calendar like a canvas, similar to Excalidraw.
Some feature ideas:
- Add birthdays, holidays, etc. with notifications
- Add ongoing events that span days or weeks
- A daily note preview popup when a day is hovered over
- Eventually turn it into a full life calendar
Not sure if this will ever become a finished product since it’s a complicated project…
Clay 3D printer
Status: 🟢 Ongoing
Overview
I’ve developed a strong interest in the art of clay printing, and am currently converting my Anycubic Vyper into a clay printer.
The system will use compressed air for clay delivery and a stepper-driven screw for controlled clay extrusion.
I’m fascinated by the beautiful patterns that others have made:
Also, clay is reusable and eco-friendly.
3D printed shoes
Status: 🔵 Concept
Overview
Imagine being able to create your own custom-fitted shoes. While an SLS printer is best suited for this, it is possible using FDM technology.
My favorite 3D printed shoe design is the Cryptide sneaker:
Glass 3D printer
Status: 🔵 Concept
Overview
This is a big dream of mine. Glass is cheap, recyclable, and eco-friendly. There are however a lot of issues due to the high temperatures that are needed to process glass. And while glass printers exist, they aren’t very affordable.
Power usage is also high. Maybe using HHO gas instead of direct electric power would increase operating efficiency.
Otherwise, there’s also a lot of science and testing involved. Someone has to do it.
